Red earthworms are great for feeding birds, reptiles, and small mammals.
We offer these in jumbo size (1.5" to 3.5") though we will pick the largest and often include eggs (cocoons) in the bedding. Each cocoon with hatch 1 to 5 worms.
CARE AND STORAGE
Keep refrigerated for longer storage.
Jumbo Redworms can tolerate a wide range of temperatures compared to other earthworms. E. hortensis optimum temperatures are between 60 and 70° F (15 - 21 C) but they will tolerate temperatures from 45 to 80° F (7 - 26C). When temperatures drop below 45° F they will need to be held for pickup or require a heat pack.
Upon arrival remove the lid to allow fresh air into the cup and add a few drops of water if needed to keep the bedding moist. Red worms breathe through their skin which must be moist at all times.
Use either aged tap water or bottled water
Remove bedding gently with fingers before offering as food
